Golden Crest Manors - Nerang

Located at Nerang on the Gold Coast, the ‘over-50’s’ resort recently took out the prestigious accolade for best health facilities (more than $10 million) at the 2005 Gold Coast Master Builders House and Construction Awards held at Royal Pines Resort.

Set on a 17-hectare site in Nerang, the $100 million development will ultimately house 550 residents in  more than 300 individual homes. There is a choice 14 different designs with 50 external colour schemes, matched with a choice of seven internal colour combinations. All the homes have Colourbond roofing and are constructed using steel framing as the main structure. Block sizes range between 250sq.m and 350sq.m.

The homes are all freestanding, architecturally designed two or three bedroom properties and are developed under the Queensland Manufactured Homes Act with an estimated completion date of Christmas 2007

The centrepiece of the development is a $10 million clubhouse.  The 3500sqm multi-storey entertainment centre included a 30 seat cinema, arts and crafts room, computer work stations, library and games room.  The sports club and residents' lounge is supported by a commercial standard kitchen for catering, plus a fully equipped workshop for those who wanted to tinker in the workshop. The rooftop of the clubhouse is reached by an internal lift, has a 10 rink lawn bowling complex and is surrounded by three heated pools and two spas.

So, what's happening to date

The clubhouse was recently completed and sales are now on for the last 2 stages.
